Discussion of Problem 1024. Permutations

What is mean P2(n) = P(P(n)) mean? My math is really good. But I can't understand it.

The number just mean the quantity of P() in total. P4(n)=P(P(P(P(n)))). Some time in math we write this '2' in the bottom-left corner, but that doesn't make much difference.
