Does anybody write programs in Visual Basic here?
No. The judge system does not support Basic. Almost everyone here uses pascal (though I do not understand why)

Why Pascal?

High-school programmers practice extended use of Pascal, for
example in IOI and stuff like that Pascal is the dominating
language, but i heard that in some ACM regionals they don't
support Pascal anymore, only C/C++/Java and maybe some
other things.

I used basic long long ago, and turned to pascal to solve
informatic problems in senior, but now I have forgotten all
about that, only familiar with c++, I feel it's fast and
good, but not as beautiful as pascal, and I often have some
difficulties in debugging (arithmetic overflow and range
check) and dealing with input/output,
