What about "-" sign?

In the given example this sign is just deleted from the output and
it's not break the work, though a word defined in the beginning as
a sequence of only small or big english letters.
example had been made a little mistake.'-' is not a correct char

So, what do you mean: "it is a little mistake.'-' is not a correct
char"?
In the problem description is said that any character is legal.
Should we relate to "-" as to any other non-letter character,
like ",.;" or this is justa an error in the example they gave?
